Gwaihir Aubusson

SensationalAubusson is an exemplary pre-potent performance stallion. With a gentleman’s nature, high trainability and incredible versatility. Of compact build with uphill movement driven by amazing hocks. He suits mares/ breeders desiring straight legs and movement, strong topline and hind quarters, elegant head and length of rein, refinement and elegance.

Aubusson reached the pinnacle of the hacking world in 2004 as Sydney Royal Champion Ridden Derivative. Other highlights also include Australian Champion Led and Ridden Derivative Stallion; National Arabian Champion Led Anglo Arabian Stallion and East Coast Champion led and ridden Derivative Stallion/colt. With success in Dressage, Eventing, Show Jumping and Stock Work too.

Aubuson’s pedigree carries international endurance, and Supreme Champion show lines on his sire’s side, with black type racing pedigree on his dam’s side. This powerful combination makes him a suitable cross with mares of diversity, for a number of disciplines. His progeny are testament to this, excelling in: eventing (Ari de Gwaihir 4* and Tarrenlea Eloise 2*), hacking ( Aurigan de Gwaihir and Gazelle de Gwaihir both Royal Multi Champions), show jumping (Mt Robinsons Gwaihir- Mini Prix and Mt Robinsons Choice- C Grade), campdrafting (Hazel), polo cross, stock work, pony club, endurance, harness (Pizazz), RDA and pleasure; with both Olympic and amateur riders alike on board.

Testimonials

As a foal he was classified by Dr Ramsaeur (ACE Germany) as 'Premium Quality'.

Ian Stark (UK Olympic Eve nting representative) rode Aubusson at his first eventing clinic and was greatly admired by Stark.

"A phenomenal combination of his breeding, this is what an anglo should be," Gloria Lonigan commenting on Gwaihir Aubusson upon awarding him Australian Champion Anglo Arabian Stallion 1998.

"Craig Barret recently made the comment that Eloise was by far the best horse he has ever ridden cross country not only because of the size of her heart but because the arab in her meant she could go all day. So while he is sad to miss the ride on her this season, I have no doubt that he will be taking her 3 star when she has finished with her break."- owner Isobel King.
