The Gwaihir family at Bowral show.

10/01/10 A family outing for the Gwaihir horses. The whole family competed in one showjumping class at Bowral show. Just one rail for dad (Gwaihir Aubusson) & double clear for mum (Rain) who came 3rd out of 40!! The daughter (Hail) of the happy couple also had a double clear. What fun!

Hail at the NRC championshipsNovember 2009

28/11/09 Hail competed successfully at the Northside Riding Club Dressage championships. She scored 64.5% in 1D and was 3rd with 60.5% in the 1C for a 4th - both official.

Mt Robinson's ChoiceMt Robinsons Choice (pictured below) won overall champion in the 1.15-1.20 class at the Chidlow Show.

Ari De Gwaihir - Adelaide 4*Congratulations to Ari de Gwaihir 7th placed in the Adelaide International Horse Trials on 14/15 November in the 4* class.

Stuart Tinney was the lucky rider of this super talented horse and owners Jenny Rissman and Charlotte Mavris were thrilled with Ari's performance. He was coming 8th after the dressage phase, day 2 saw him have one stop cross country which Stuart admitted was rider error (it can happen to Gold Medallists as well as us mere mortals!) putting Ari in 11th; day 3 and Ari did his ever reliable clear showjumping round with one time penalty added to his score.

This was a top performance as Ari battled 35 degree+ temperatures and the most challenging Adelaide cross country course in years, which saw horses All Luck, Ringwould Jaguar, Kirby Park Irish Jester and Wendy Schaeffer on all three of her horses come unstuck.

Ari is now enjoying a well earned break at Gwaihir Stud with his paddock mate Aurigan de Gwaihir- what a flash pair!

Mt Robinson's GwahirA quieter achiever, but another fabulously versatile Aubusson baby is Hazel. Jane Robinson can be seen at events such as Wingham, in the placings at Newcomers. Whilst owner Jan Bailey takes turns to do camp drafting, where Hazel always has admirers and continues to improve in the field showing great promise as a successful cow-horse!

Mt Robinsons Gwaihir (pictured right) was seen cruising around the 1.25m Patron's Cup courses in WA. Apparently reading the height of the 1,45m cups and not the 1.25m height of the rails! His elder sister Mt Robinsons Choice, recently back from injury, won the 6 bar at 1.40m! Go girl!

Gwaihir's Dante

Gwaihir's Dante (pictured left)-  24th October at Lismore Show, he was first in the ridden stallion.

Minx de Gwaihir - (5yo daughter of Aubusson) has been out and about in full force. In October she made her dressage debut at Canberra where she got 1st with 68.5% in one test and 3rd with 61.42% in the other. Then she went to a Gymkhana and she won Champion Led and Reserve champion ridden. Last weekend was the dressage here at Goulburn and she won the Prep 4 with 65%.

Hazel- 24/25th October at Wingham ODE, this lovely daughter of Aubusson was 7th in the Newcomers class with Jane Robinson on board.

Aurigan de GwaihirAurigan de Gwaihir (pictured right) -  24/25th Oct at Moss Vale Spring Show "Dazz" debuted in the Show Hunter ring where he was 1st in the Novice, 2nd in the Intermediate and 1st in the Open class. He and Genevieve braved the down pour on Sunday to win their led Derivative class and then Reserve Champion, thus securing a place for Sydney Royal 2010.

Gwaihir Voltaire27/9/09: Gwaihir Voltaire (by San Domingo) and I completed our first comp together successfully yesterday.  We didn't do that well in the tests mainly because I was soooo nervous about the whole day!!!  It was an awful day too with the wind being so blustery.  But the boy was perfect... didn't put a foot wrong, so I think we will do a lot better next time having the first one under our belt

Hazurac and Chris Burton"Haruzac wins at SEIC 3DE- Chris Burton scored a high 74.40% in the NSW Institute of Sport Pre Novice class aboard Haruzac to win the class. Haruzac is by the Gwaihir bred stallion Gwaihir's Zodiac.
